Common oven error codes and fixes
GE F2 / F3 — temp sensor / runaway
GE Profile / Cafe wall ovens: F2 = oven is over-temp during bake; F3 = sensor open circuit. Sensor is a $35 part / 30 min. Always test sensor at 1080 ohms (resistance at room temp) before swapping the $300 control board.
Whirlpool / KitchenAid F1 / F1E0 — control board
F1 family means the ERC (electronic range control) lost a touchpad signal. Try a 2-minute power cycle first. If F1 returns within 24 hours, the board (or its touchpad ribbon) is failing. OEM board ~$280; aftermarket reliable equivalents ~$160.
Samsung E-08 / E-27 — oven not heating
E-08 = bake element open; E-27 = relay failure on control board. Bake element is $50 / 45 min. Board-level relay repair: we do board-swaps only (not component-level soldering) for warranty integrity.
LG F-9 / F-19 — door lock fault
F-9 / F-19 prevents self-clean from starting and sometimes blocks all bake. Door-lock motor assembly is $120 / 60 min. Check first that nothing is jamming the latch arm — sometimes it's just food debris.
Oven temperature inaccurate (bakes uneven)
Not an error code, but a top complaint. Calibrate via the control panel offset (-35 to +35F). If bake/broil seems unbalanced, the upper element or the convection fan motor may be the issue. We use a thermocouple probe to measure actual cavity temp vs setpoint before recommending parts.
