Berne Appliance Repair (operating under DBAs Berne Appliance Repair, Berne Appliance Repair, and Norma Appliance Repair — see /credentials) is a Florida-registered residential appliance repair business serving Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, plus Gulf Coast counties (Hillsborough, Sarasota, Collier, Pinellas, Lee). Our headquarters is 1001 N Federal Hwy #230, Hallandale Beach, FL 33009; we also operate a Boca Raton office at 131 S Federal Hwy #533.
What information we collect
When you submit a service request through our website forms, by phone, or by SMS we collect:
- Name + phone + service address — required for dispatch.
- Email (optional) — for appointment confirmations and warranty receipts.
- Description of the issue — appliance type, brand, model, and the symptom you describe.
- Technical data — IP address and browser/device info collected automatically via IONOS hosting logs.
- Cookies — first-party cookies for site functionality and aggregate analytics. See our Cookie Policy.
How we use it
- To dispatch a technician and complete your repair.
- To send appointment confirmations, arrival ETAs, warranty receipts, and follow-up service reminders.
- To improve our service via aggregate, non-identifying analytics on what people search and which services they request.
- To respond to inquiries you initiate (forms, phone, email, SMS, social).
We do not sell, rent, or trade your contact information. We do not send unsolicited marketing email or SMS — communications are limited to your active service request or follow-up on prior service.
Calls and text messages (TCPA)
By submitting our contact form or sharing your phone number with us, you agree that Berne Appliance Repair may contact you by phone call or SMS at the number you provide regarding your repair request. Standard message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any text, or by telling our dispatch you no longer wish to be contacted.

- Resend — transactional email delivery for lead notifications.
- HousecallPro — dispatch CRM that stores work orders and service history.

Each vendor is bound by its own privacy terms; we use them strictly for the operational purpose listed above and do not authorize them to use your information for their own marketing.
Retention
We keep service and customer contact records for the duration of the 90-day warranty period plus 2 years for tax and dispute-resolution purposes. You may request earlier deletion by emailing us — subject to legal and tax record-keeping obligations.
Your rights
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion (subject to retention above).
- Opt out of analytics: enable browser-level “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control” — we honor both. Or install the official Google Analytics opt-out extension.
- California residents: CCPA rights apply. Email us with a brief description of your request; we respond within 30 days.
Security
Our site is hosted on IONOS with HTTPS in transit. Card payments are processed directly by Stripe/Square — we do not store full card numbers on our servers. Service history lives in our dispatch CRM with access-controlled accounts.
Children
Our service is homeowner-focused. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13.
Updates
We may update this policy. Material changes are posted with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use of our site or service after the date posted constitutes acceptance.

Our Hallandale Beach office at 1001 N Federal Hwy puts a fully stocked service truck within a short drive of the racetrack district, Hallandale Beach Blvd, and the A1A high-rise corridor. The bulk of our work here is split between the oceanfront condo towers along A1A — where salt air shortens compressor life and high-rise laundry equipment runs almost continuously — and the restaurants, bars, and small hotels clustered around Gulfstream. Same-day service windows are the norm: book before noon and we will usually have a technician at your unit that afternoon. The service call is credited toward the repair, so a diagnostic visit is not a sunk cost if you decide to proceed. Berne Appliance Repair has been working this stretch of coast for years, and our trucks carry the parts that fail first on beachfront refrigerators, dryers, and ice machines.
