We repair home appliances in Bonita Springs, both in the Bonita Bay high-rises and in the older houses off Old 41 near the Imperial River. In the 2025-26 season we handled 41 service calls in Bonita, most of them between December and April. The $59 service call is credited to the repair if you go ahead.

Bonita’s repair list: washers first

Laundry led the list. Washers were our most common Bonita job last season, refrigerators came next, and dishwashers tied with dryers for third. A typical repair ticket here ran $250 to $400 in parts and labor.

From our job notes, lightly paraphrased: a washer that walked across the floor on spin, a fairly new washer with a burnt smell, a refrigerator whose water dispenser quit while the ice maker kept working, a chest freezer that ran but did not get cold enough. On the Sub-Zero side there was a refrigerator acting up and a leaking UC-15 undercounter ice maker. A Jenn-Air gas range needed a new regulator. One call was commercial: a restaurant exhaust hood that would not run.

When the dispenser stops but ice still drops, the tube through the door has often frozen, or the dispenser side of the water valve has failed. A walking washer needs leveling or new suspension parts, and it walks sooner on a floor that flexes, which is common in manufactured homes. Census data counts close to 12 percent of Bonita’s housing as mobile homes.

34135 inland, 34134 toward the bay

About three in four of our Bonita calls had a 34135 address: the old downtown along Old 41 and the Imperial River, plus the newer gated neighborhoods out past I-75. The rest came from 34134, the Bonita Bay and Pelican Landing side, out to the beach houses on Little Hickory Island.

Census data gives Bonita a median age of 62. Close to 30 percent of its homes are seasonal, and nearly one unit in five is in a building of ten or more units. In those condo towers the washer and dryer often sit stacked in a closet. If your building wants the visit cleared with the front desk or the service elevator booked, tell dispatch so the window lines up.

December through April, and booking from up north

Our Bonita calendar followed the snowbirds. January was the busiest month, then March, then December. July brought one call.

A house closed up from May to November is hard on appliances, and a front-loader shut tight all that time tends to grow mildew in the door gasket. Before you leave, turn the ice maker off and prop the washer door open. When you get back, throw out the first couple of batches of ice and change the water filter if it is more than six months old.

Call to check the next opening. Dispatch gives you the window on the phone, and if the first slot is a few days out, you hear that before anything is booked. If something breaks while you are up north, a property manager or neighbor can let the technician in. You get a written price before any part is ordered. Brand-specific boards and ice maker assemblies are usually a two to three business day order, and the second visit is not charged a new service call.

Two storms and the water supply

Irma’s eye passed over Bonita Springs in 2017, and in 2022 Ian pushed storm surge into the city. A washer or dishwasher that sat in floodwater can dry out and run for months before the motor or control board corrodes through. If yours got wet in either storm, say so on the call; it changes what gets checked first. Near the beach and along Estero Bay, salt air eats outdoor refrigerators and lanai ice makers much faster than anything indoors.

City water is the good news. Bonita Springs Utilities blends lime-softened and reverse-osmosis water and reports average hardness under 100 mg/L, which BSU itself classes as soft. So when an ice maker slows down on BSU water, we look at the inlet valve and the filter before we blame scale.
