Ice machine problems, cause and fix

No ice at all

On a fridge module: a dead fill valve, a clogged filter, a frozen supply line, or the module motor. On a standalone machine: a failed water inlet valve, a stuck float or probe, or the compressor never starting. We trace the water path end to end first, because the cheap answer is the common one.

Thin, hollow or cloudy cubes

Scale on the evaporator plate and a low fill volume. South Florida water runs 200 to 350 ppm hardness, and that plates a machine fast. Descaling and sanitation with a proper flow check, plus a filter that matches the machine and not whatever was on the shelf.

Machine runs but never harvests
