Range & Cooktop Repair in Miami and South Florida

Frequently asked questions

Why won't my gas range burner light?

The spark electrode is dirty — food spillover on the ceramic insulator shorts the spark to ground and you get clicking but no flame. Clean the electrode with a wire brush and dry it thoroughly. If the electrode is clean and there is still no spark, the spark module under the cooktop has failed and needs replacement. Spark modules stock for GE, Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Samsung, and Frigidaire.

How much does range repair cost in South Florida?

Most range repairs run $180 to $440 in parts and labor. Spark modules, surface elements, and infinite switches are on the lower end; control boards and oven-side igniters sit at the upper end. The $59 service call is free with an approved repair.

Do you fix Wolf, Viking, and Thermador ranges?

Yes — premium ranges are senior-tech work and we carry the brand-specific tech manuals and the most common spare modules. Wolf Dual Fuel, Viking Professional, Thermador Pro Grand, La Cornue, and Bertazzoni are all in our regular service mix. We tend to finish 70 percent of premium calls the same day and order parts on the rest.

My electric range surface element is cold but the light says it is on — what is wrong?

The infinite switch on the dial has burned its internal contact, the surface element itself has gone open with a visible break in the coil, or on glass-top units the radiant burner has a hairline crack invisible from above. We pull the cooktop and inspect from below on a $59 diagnostic. Infinite switches and surface elements both stock on the truck for the major brands.

Why does my induction cooktop show an E2 or F0 error?

Induction error codes usually mean either the cooktop sensed an overheat condition (cooling fan failed or air intake blocked underneath) or the inverter board for that burner has thrown a fault. We carry the brand-specific code sheets and the most common inverter boards for GE Profile, Bosch, Wolf, and Thermador induction units. Most calls finish on the first visit.

Can you do same-day range repair in Broward County?

Yes, we run daily Broward routes Monday through Saturday and most range calls placed before noon get a same-day slot. Book directly at (754) 345-4515. Holiday week range calls jump to the top of the queue.

Why does my dual-fuel range oven not match the cooktop temperature?

Dual-fuel ranges have separate control loops for the gas cooktop and the electric oven, and the oven temperature drift you are noticing is almost always the oven thermistor or the control board calibration, not a cooktop issue. We test the thermistor against a calibrated probe and either swap it or recalibrate via service mode. Common on Wolf DF-series and Viking VDR-series after 8 to 12 years.

How much does a range hood install or repair cost?

Range hood repair runs $160 to $380 — failed blowers, dead LED strips, broken dampers, and unresponsive touch panels are the common failures. Full hood replacement install starts at $385 plus the hood itself, more if new ductwork is needed. We handle wall-mount, island, under-cabinet, and downdraft hoods on the same dispatch as a range repair.

My range knob is loose or fell off — can you fix that?

Yes. The valve stem D-shaft has worn smooth, the knob insert is stripped, or both — common on gas ranges 8-plus years old. Replacement knobs stock for the major brands; valve stems we replace as a complete burner valve assembly. Quick fix in most cases.

Is it worth repairing a 12-year-old range?

On commodity brands like GE, Whirlpool, Frigidaire, and Samsung — depends on the failure. Cheap fixes like spark modules, igniters, infinite switches, and elements are almost always worth it. A failed main control board on a 12-year-old commodity range often is not. On Wolf, Viking, Thermador, and La Cornue — almost always worth repairing because the cavity, burners, and grates outlast any replacement.

Do you service slide-in versus freestanding ranges?

Both — slide-in units add a couple of layers of access work because of the counter overlap and side trim, but the diagnostic flow is identical. We quote any extra labor up front on slide-in calls so there are no surprises at the end.

What is your warranty on range repairs?

Tiered parts coverage plus a 90-day labor warranty. Parts we install are covered up to 10 years on sealed-system welds, up to 2 years on mechanical parts, and up to 1 year on electronic and electrical components. Labor is backed for 90 days — parts up to 10 years on sealed-system welds, 2 years mechanical, 1 year electronics; labor 90 days for the component we replaced. If the same part fails inside that window we return at no charge — no service call, no labor, just the warranty visit.
