LG ranges are the ones with the ProBake element on the back wall instead of the bottom, the touch panels that stop answering after a boil-over, and the F9 code that sends owners to the parts store for an element they did not need. LG range problems, by code and symptom
F9: oven will not reach temperature
The oven did not hit 150°F in the time the control expects. On electric ProBake units it is usually the rear convection element or the bake relay on the board; on gas units the igniter has weakened below what the safety valve needs. Owners replace the bottom element on a ProBake range and nothing changes, because ProBake has no bottom element. We meter the element that is actually there.
F19 or F11: control or sensor fault
F19 is the oven sensor reading out of range, F11 is a stuck key on the touch panel. A sensor is a $40 part. A stuck key after a boil-over is moisture under the membrane, and it sometimes clears on its own; when it does not, the panel or the touch controller is the part.
Touch panel dead or ignoring presses
The capacitive panel on LG slide-ins loses sensitivity with grease film, humidity and age. We clean and test it first, then replace the touch controller or the display assembly if the panel has failed. Do not let anyone quote a main board for a dead panel without testing the panel itself.
Bake or broil dead, convection fan works
Electric: an open element or a failed relay on the main board. We check resistance at the element before touching the board, because elements are cheap and boards are not. Gas: the bake igniter or the broil igniter, each its own part.
Gas burner clicks and will not light, or lights on the third try
A spark electrode fouled with boil-over residue, a cracked electrode, or moisture in the spark switch on a humid morning. We clean or replace the electrode and isolate a leaking switch; the whole harness only gets replaced when it has hardened with age.
Cooktop element cycles wrong, glass top cracked
A radiant element that stays on high or never heats is the element or its limiter; one that flickers is the infinite switch. A cracked glass top is a replacement top, and on LG slide-ins the top comes as an assembly with the elements mounted.
Oven door will not close flush, heat escaping at the top
Hinge wear on a heavy InstaView door, or a gasket that has flattened. Both bleed heat, stretch preheats and look like a thermostat fault. Hinge kit and gasket, verified with a probe.
Self-clean locked the door and the oven died
A thermal fuse tripped during the clean cycle, sometimes with the door lock motor. We replace the fuse, test the lock and tell you honestly that self-clean on an aging range is a gamble worth skipping.

Sensors, elements, igniters, switches, hinges and fuses are worth doing on any LG range under twelve years. The decision point is a main board plus a touch assembly failing together on a unit past eight years, where the pair reaches half the price of a new LSEL6335, or a cracked glass top on an older slide-in. Induction ranges and wall ovens tip toward repair because replacement means a cabinet fit as well as an appliance.

What does F9 mean on an LG oven?

The touch panel on my LG range stopped responding. Is it the board?
