We fix washers, dryers, refrigerators and ranges in Venice, and in Nokomis and Osprey north of it along the Tamiami Trail. Between late December 2025 and April 2026 we took 24 service calls in this corner of Sarasota County. The service call is $59 and it comes off the bill if you go ahead with the repair.

Our 24 Venice-area calls, by ZIP

Thirteen were in 34293, the ZIP that takes in South Venice, Venice Gardens and the Venice-addressed side of Wellen Park. Nokomis (34275) had seven, Osprey (34229) three, and one came from 34292. February was the busy month with nine visits. That is the snowbird curve: houses fill up after New Year’s and machines that sat through the summer run every day again.

Our records name the appliance on only a handful of those visits: two dryers, a washer, a refrigerator and a range. Too few to call a trend. A typical repair ticket here was $280 to $360 in parts and labor, and a few visits ended with nothing more than the service call.

Manufactured homes and condo closets

Census data for the city says more than half the homes went up before 1990 and about one in eight is a mobile or manufactured home. Residents skew older, with a median age of 69.

In a manufactured home the dryer vent often drops through the floor and runs under the house to the skirting, a long flat path where lint piles up. A dryer that leaves towels damp, or keeps blowing its thermal fuse, may have nothing wrong with it except that vent, so check the airflow before paying for a heating element. More on the dryer repair page.

Close to a quarter of Venice homes sit in buildings of ten units or more. There the laundry is often a stacked washer and dryer in a hall closet with no room to slide either one out. Most washer repairs (pump, lid switch, door lock, board) can be done in place. A drum or bearing job usually means pulling the stack out, and in a tight closet that is the hard part.

When the power comes back after a storm

Milton came ashore near Siesta Key in October 2024, just north of Venice, and the city sat close to its worst surge and wind. Two years earlier, Ian’s eyewall hung over the south county for hours and flooded inland parts of Venice. Floodwater and outages hurt appliances differently. Anything that stood in water needs the motor and the board looked at before it gets plugged in. A refrigerator that hums but stays warm once the power is back often needs a start relay or a control board, sometimes a compressor. The refrigerator repair page covers what we test.

Closing the house for the summer

Census data puts 22.5 percent of Venice homes in seasonal use. Before you head north, turn off the water to the fridge and the washer and prop the front-loader door open so the gasket dries. When you come back, throw out the first day of ice.

If you are up north when the fridge quits, anyone with a key can meet the technician. You get a written price before any part is ordered, wherever you are. Some kitchens on Casey Key and Venice Island have built-in refrigeration; we repair Sub-Zero, Wolf, Thermador, Miele, Viking and Monogram along with LG, Samsung, Whirlpool and GE. Berne is an LG Authorized Service Center.

Getting a technician to Venice

The technicians who cover Sarasota and Manatee drive down for these calls, so timing depends on that day’s route. Call to check the next opening and dispatch gives you the window on the phone. Phones are answered 7 AM to 9 PM every day.

Brand-specific boards and ice maker assemblies are usually a two to three business day order, and the second visit is not charged a new service call. Parts carry our tiered warranty, up to 10 years on sealed-system welds, and labor is covered for 90 days.

Up the coast is Sarasota, and past it Lakewood Ranch and Bradenton. North Port is to the southeast. Photos of finished jobs are on our work.

FAQ: appliance repair in Venice

Do you have an office in Venice?

No. Technicians come to your home and there is no walk-in shop. Our only address is 1001 N Federal Hwy in Hallandale Beach. Book at (941) 964-6989 or with the form on this page.

How soon can someone get to Venice, Nokomis or Osprey?

It depends on the route that day. Call (941) 964-6989 to check the next opening; dispatch gives you the window on the phone.

Do weekend visits in Venice cost more?

No. Weekends cost the same as weekdays. The $59 service call covers the visit and diagnosis and is credited to the repair if you go ahead.

Can you fix a mobile-home dryer that vents under the floor?

Yes. Mention the under-floor vent when you book. If the dryer runs but will not dry, the vent run gets checked along with the heating element and the thermal fuse.

My fridge has been warm since the power came back. Is it worth fixing?

It depends on what failed. A start relay or a control board is an ordinary repair. A dead compressor in an old refrigerator can cost more than the fridge is worth, and since you see the written price first, you decide.
