Berne Appliance Repair has run service calls in Florida for 11 years, and our 19 factory-trained technicians have closed more than 30,000 of them. On the Tampa side that means Hillsborough and Pinellas: Hyde Park and Davis Islands houses with built-in Sub-Zero and Thermador, the newer Westchase and Carrollwood subdivisions where Samsung and LG French-door refrigerators dominate, and Brandon, where long dryer runs through the attic keep lint out of sight until a thermal fuse blows.
Gulf humidity is the quiet part of the job. Condensers run longer against 90-degree afternoons, defrost drains ice up and spill water under the crisper, and vents that would be fine in a dry climate hold moisture. Storm season handles the loud part: from June to November the grid browns out, and control boards go with it — often a week or two after the storm, not the same night.
