Eugene Bernitsky started Berne Appliance Repair in 2015 with a simple bet: South Florida homeowners deserved an appliance repair company that actually answered the phone and showed up when it said it would. A decade later, that bet has built an 18-technician operation that runs same-day calls across Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, and the Gulf Coast — Hillsborough/Tampa, Sarasota, Collier/Naples, Pinellas, and Lee. The numbers tell part of the story: 29,000+ services completed, a 4.79-star aggregate across 871 reviews on Google, Yelp, and the other platforms our customers actually use. But here is the part the numbers do not capture — every technician on a Berne truck is a W-2 employee. Not a same-day subcontractor, not a dispatcher’s brother-in-law, not a referral pass-through. Berne employees, trained continuously through Marcone Servicers Association (MSA) and the OEM-specific certification tracks for the brands we see in your kitchen.

Why we built it this way

South Florida appliance repair has always been a fragmented market. Customers cycle through Yelp listings, Groupon coupons, franchise dispatchers, and one-truck operations — and they are routinely surprised when the cheapest quote ships a no-show, a misdiagnosis, or a $40 part marked up to $400. We built Berne to be the option that does not pull surprises. Transparent diagnostic fee. Real warranty on real paperwork. A senior technician on the truck — not a trainee with a wrench and a YouTube tab open. The thing we are proudest of, eleven years in, is the repeat-customer rate. Most of the calls we run on a given Tuesday come from a household we already worked for, or a neighbor they sent us to.

How we actually work

Every service call starts with a flat $59 diagnostic that is credited back if you proceed with the repair. The technician shows up in a stocked truck — OEM parts on board for the brands we see daily: Sub-Zero, Wolf, Viking, Thermador, Miele, and Bosch on the premium side; LG, Samsung, Whirlpool, GE, KitchenAid, Maytag, Frigidaire on the volume side. Diagnostic, written estimate, your decision. If you proceed, the work carries a 90-day workmanship warranty on labor and parts — that is the actual contractual promise, not a marketing slogan. We are open seven days a week, 7 AM to 9 PM, and we dispatch from two offices: 1001 N Federal Hwy #230 in Hallandale Beach (HQ) and 131 S Federal Hwy #533 in Boca Raton. Where we are going

As of 2026 we are eleven years in, 18 technicians on the road, and two offices on Federal Highway. Over the next 18 months we plan to add another six to eight technicians, expand commercial dispatch through our sister operation Berne Commercial Repair, and continue rolling out the same-day standard further north along the Gulf Coast.
