Miele Appliance Repair in Miami & South Florida

Factory-trained service across South Florida. Call (754) 345-4515 or schedule online.

Your Miele G 7000 dishwasher pops an F70 error halfway through the Auto cycle. The display blinks, the drain pump hums for a few seconds, and the door locks. You’re in the middle of breakfast cleanup in your Coral Gables kitchen and now you can’t even get the door open without a manual release. Miele built its reputation on dishwashers that last 20 years and washers that last forever, but every Miele has an electronic control system that does protect the appliance — and that means error codes when something is even slightly off. F11, F14, F70, F78 — they all mean something specific. We service Miele dishwashers, washers, dryers, wall ovens, coffee systems, and built-in refrigeration across South Florida, with techs factory-trained on the German diagnostic platforms. Call (754) 345-4515 and we’ll have someone at the door, often same-day, with OEM Miele parts in the truck.

About Miele

Miele is family-owned, headquartered in Gütersloh, Germany since 1899, and still run by descendants of the founders. The company tests every washer and dryer to 20 years of typical home use — that’s roughly 5,000 cycles — before it ships. You pay for that in the price tag (a G 7000 dishwasher runs $1,800-$3,200, a W1 washer $1,500-$2,500) but you get a machine that genuinely outlasts its competitors when serviced properly. The current lineup in South Florida includes the G 5000 and G 7000 dishwashers (the G 7000 has the AutoDos integrated detergent dispenser), the W1 washer and T1 heat-pump dryer, the H 7000 wall ovens, the CM coffee systems built into kitchen panels, and the MasterCool refrigeration columns. You’ll see Miele densely in Coral Gables, Pinecrest, Brickell new-construction towers, and increasingly in Boca Raton remodels. Our techs handle every model line on the Miele platform.

Common Miele Problems We Fix

A handful of failure codes and mechanical issues drive most of our Miele calls:

  • F11 drain fault on G 7000 dishwashers. The drain pump impeller is blocked by a bone fragment or a piece of glass, or the drain hose has a kink. We pull the pump, clear the obstruction, and verify drain flow rate.
  • F14 inlet water valve fault. Miami water-supply lines deliver hard water and the inlet valve solenoid fails or the screen clogs. About 40 minutes to replace the valve.
  • F70 thermistor or NTC failure. The temperature sensor in the sump reads out of range. OEM replacement; the part is on the truck.
  • F78 drain pump motor electrical fault. Less common but does show up. We meter the motor and replace if shorted.
  • Salt reservoir light on G 7000. Owners think the salt is for taste — it’s not, it’s for the built-in water softener and Miami absolutely needs it. We refill and reset the indicator. If the indicator won’t reset, the salt-level sensor has failed.
  • W1 washer F53 motor tachometer fault. The hall-effect sensor on the drum motor fails. About a 90-minute job because the motor has to come out.
  • T1 dryer heat-pump performance loss. Lint accumulation in the secondary filter (the one most owners don’t know exists) cripples drying time. We pull the filter housing, clean the heat exchanger, and dry times come back to normal.
  • MasterCool refrigeration column door alarm. Reed switch fails or door alignment is off. Quick fix.
  • CM 6000 / CM 7000 coffee system descale faults. Miami tap water needs aggressive descaling. We run the deep-descale, replace the brew unit gasket if needed, and recalibrate.

What to Expect

Service call is $59 and applies to the repair if you approve. Two-hour arrival window, 30-minute heads-up text. Every Miele tech is trained on the German diagnostic system — Miele uses proprietary fault codes and a service interface that’s different from American brands, and we use the right tools. OEM parts only on Miele; we don’t substitute aftermarket on this brand. Most repairs finish in one visit. Sealed-system MasterCool work or special-order coffee-system parts may take two trips.

FAQ

Why is my Miele dishwasher showing the salt warning light? I’m not using a water softener.
Miele dishwashers have a built-in water softener that needs Miele-brand dishwasher salt. The salt softens incoming water so the detergent works at full strength. Without it, you’ll see scale on glassware and reduced cleaning performance.

Is the F70 error fixable or do I need a new dishwasher?
Almost always fixable. F70 is a thermistor fault — about $150 in parts and an hour of labor.

How long does a Miele washer actually last?
We see W1 and W3 series washers regularly at 15+ years. The motor and drum are good for 20. Wear items like the door gasket, the drain pump, and the inlet valve need occasional service.

My T1 dryer takes forever to dry — is the heat pump broken?
Usually no. Miami humidity plus a clogged secondary filter equals long dry times. The secondary filter sits behind the kick plate and 80 percent of owners have never cleaned it. We pull it and the dry time drops 30 percent.

Will you work on a 2003 Miele dishwasher?
Yes. Pre-2008 G-series parts are getting scarce but most repairs are still possible.

Miele Maintenance That Earns the Price Tag

Miele dishwashers need the integrated water softener kept full of Miele-brand dishwasher salt. The salt is loaded into a reservoir in the bottom of the tub (under the lower spray arm). Refill when the indicator light comes on, typically every 4-8 weeks depending on cycles run. Use only Miele dishwasher salt — generic water-softener salt has additives that can damage the resin bed.

The secondary filter in T1 heat-pump dryers sits behind the kick plate at the bottom. Most owners have never cleaned it. Pull the kick plate, slide out the filter sponge, rinse under warm water, dry completely, re-install. Do this every 50 cycles. Skipping this step cuts drying performance by 25-30 percent.

For CM coffee systems, run the descale program every two months in Miami. The brew unit gasket needs replacement every 12-18 months because hard water degrades the rubber. Use only Miele-branded descaler.

W1 washers benefit from a 90-degree cleaning cycle monthly — empty drum, Miele-branded washing-machine cleaner, run the cleaning program. This prevents biofilm in the drum and around the gasket lip.

Miele Error Code Reference

The codes below show up most often on Miele service calls across Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach. Reading the code first cuts diagnostic time and helps us bring the right OEM part on the truck. If your unit shows a code that’s not in this table, call (754) 345-4515 and we’ll walk through the code with you.

Code Meaning Field-tested fix path
F11 Drain fault (dishwasher) Pump impeller free; check non-return valve

Where Miele Lives in South Florida

Modern European-spec kitchen, design-forward client. Miele is the choice for South Florida clients who want fully integrated panel-ready appliances and European engineering. The G7000 dishwashers, H7000 ovens, and KFNS iDE refrigeration show up in Coral Gables modern renovations, Sunset Islands custom builds, and high-end Miami Beach condos. The W1/T1 washer-dryer pairs are unusual in South Florida (most homes have larger US-spec laundry) but show up in Brickell and Mid-Beach high-rises where the laundry closet is European-sized. Berne carries Miele’s MasterTechnician authorization.

Miele Service Interval Recommendations

The cadences below come from our field experience on Miele in South Florida — humidity, salt air, and high-traffic kitchens push intervals tighter than the manufacturer manuals usually publish.

Item Recommended cadence
Dishwasher rinse aid + salt top-up every 30 cycles
Washer drum freshen cycle (W1) monthly
Heat-pump dryer condenser cleaning (T1) every 12 months
Oven cavity wipe + catalyst panel check every 6 months
Coffee system brew-unit cleaning every 200 brews
Integrated fridge condenser cleaning every 6 months

Miele and the South Florida Climate

Miele Aqua-stop hoses are sensitive to Miami’s hard water. The flexible inner liner can develop pinholes after 8-10 years, and the Aqua-stop solenoid trips F32 when it sees the leak. We replace the full hose assembly rather than patching, and we recommend a water-softening cartridge for any plumbed Miele appliance (dishwasher, coffee, steam oven) in homes south of Cutler Bay where well water is common.

Miele Extended Repair Pricing

Pricing below is the working range our techs see on Miele in 2026 across South Florida. The bottom of each range is a straightforward part-swap; the top accounts for harder access, additional diagnostics, or rare-stock parts that require special-order fulfillment.

Repair Typical range
Aqua-stop hose assembly $245-$340
Flow-through heater (dishwasher/washer) $385-$540
PT1000 oven sensor $185-$285
M Touch UI replacement (H7000) $685-$985
Brew unit (coffee CVA7000) $485-$685
Integrated fridge inverter board $485-$685
Heat-pump compressor (T1 dryer) $685-$985
Door hinge cassette (integrated fridge) $285-$385

What Happens on the First Miele Visit

Every Miele call starts the same way. The tech confirms the model and serial number on the data plate, photographs the install for the file, and asks two or three diagnostic questions before pulling the unit. Bringing the right error code, the unit’s age, and any recent power events (lightning, brown-out, breaker trip) to the call cuts diagnostic time roughly in half. Most Miele repairs finish on the first visit if the model is current production and the failure matches a common pattern. Sealed-system work, control-board replacements, or specialty parts that need to ship from outside our local warehouse can stretch to a return visit.

Before the tech leaves, you get a written estimate with the part number, the labor charge, the warranty coverage, and the expected completion date if a part needs to be ordered. We don’t charge for the estimate beyond the $59 service call (which applies to the repair if you approve the quote). If the unit isn’t worth repairing — which happens occasionally on Miele units past the 15-20 year mark — we say so plainly and refund any deposit beyond the service call. Honest repair-vs-replace math is a core part of how we work.

More Miele Questions We Get

Is Berne a Miele MasterTechnician dealer?
Yes. We carry the Miele MasterTechnician authorization and our techs complete the annual Miele training updates. Warranty work on Miele appliances can be filed through us directly.

Where is the Miele serial number?
G-series dishwashers: open door, look at top edge of inner door frame. H-series ovens: open door, left inside frame. KFNS fridges: inside on left wall near the top.

How long does a Miele dishwasher really last?
Miele rates the G-series for 20 years at 5 cycles per week (about 5,000 cycles). South Florida usage averages closer to 7 cycles per week, putting realistic life at 14-15 years before major component replacement is uneconomic.

Why is my Miele dishwasher cycling for 3+ hours?
Miele runs adaptive sensor cycles — soil sensor, water turbidity, water temperature. A long cycle is normal on heavy soil or cold supply. If it persists on light cycles, the flow-through heater is degrading.

Can I get Miele parts for a 12-year-old G2470?
Yes for most functional parts through the Miele parts pipeline. Aqua-stop hoses, drain pumps, control boards, and door hinges still in current production or NOS. Cosmetic panels and original handles can be harder to source.
