Humidity will not hold

The most common call. Usually a worn door gasket, a dried-out humidifier cartridge, or a failed humidification module that reads 70 on the display while the hygrometer inside says 58. We test with a calibrated meter, not the built-in readout, and replace the part that lies.

Temperature drifting or cabinet running warm

Thermoelectric units lose their Peltier modules and fans quietly: the cabinet creeps from 68 to 75 over a couple of weeks. Compressor-based cabinets fail more like a fridge — a relay, a start capacitor, or a low refrigerant charge. We service both types, and refrigerant work is done in-house under EPA 608.

Condensation and mold spots

Water beading on the glass or a musty corner means the climate loop is cycling wrong, not that Florida is too humid for cigars. A failed fan, a blocked drain channel or an oversized humidifier is the usual cause. Caught early, the collection is fine.

Control board and sensor faults

Error codes, dead displays, units that ignore their setpoint. We diagnose the board and the sensors separately — sensors are cheap, boards are not, and half the boards people are told to replace only needed a $30 probe.
