GE dishwasher repair across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach. GE, Profile, Café and Monogram: GDT, GDF, PDT, CDT and the older GSD series. Not draining, not starting, lights blinking, no water, leaking door, dead control, Dry Boost not drying. $59 service call, free with the repair · 4.79★ · same-day slots most days.

GE dishwashers do not talk much. Where a Bosch shows E15 and a KitchenAid blinks a code, a GE GDT or PDT usually just stops, or blinks its start light, and leaves you guessing. That is why a GE call starts with the sump and the door instead of a code table. The list is short: a drain pump that clogs or fails, an inlet valve that quits, a door latch on the top-control models, a control board that dies quietly, and on the older GSD units a wash motor that seizes. Since Haier took over GE Appliances the parts have stayed available and cheap, and a GE dishwasher is one of the more sensible machines to keep repairing. Here is what each one costs.

GE dishwasher problems and what we do about them

Water in the bottom, will not drain
The drain pump is clogged with glass or food debris under the filter, its check valve is stuck, or the pump motor has failed. On the GDT platform the pump is reached from below with the toe kick off and is a same-visit part. A drain hose pushed too far into the disposal also siphons, and we check that before anything else because it costs nothing.
Start light blinking, will not run
On most GE models a blinking start light is a door that the control reads as open, a stuck key on the panel, or a control board that has lost its program. We check the latch and the panel first, because the board is the expensive answer and rarely the right one on a machine under eight years.
Runs but no water, dishes dry and dirty
The inlet valve, its screen clogged with mineral grit from South Florida water, or a float switch stuck up by debris. Screens are cleaned free with the visit; a valve is a same-day part.
Hums but does not wash, or grinds
The wash motor. On the older GSD units the motor seizes after years of hard water; on GDT units the circulation pump wears its bearing. A grinding wash motor is worth replacing before it takes the pump housing with it.
Leaking from the front corners or under the door
The door gasket, the lower door seal, or a cracked spray arm throwing water at the door. On top-control GDT models a warped control panel lets the door sit slightly open and leak at one corner.
Dead panel, no lights at all
A tripped thermal fuse on the control on older models, a failed door switch, or the control board. We check the power at the junction box and the fuse before condemning the board.
Dishes wet at the end, Dry Boost not helping
Rinse aid empty or the dispenser stuck, or on Profile and Café units the drying fan or its vent. The dispenser is a same-visit part; the fan assembly comes through distribution.
White film on glasses, cloudy plastics
Hard-water scale. We descale the sump and the heater and set the rinse-aid dose for Miami water. A GE with the Piranha hard food disposer also collects scale on the disposer blade, and we clear it.

Repair or replace

Pumps, latches, valves, seals, elements and dispensers are worth doing on any GE dishwasher under twelve years, and the older GSD machines are simple enough to keep going past that. The line is a wash motor and a control board failing together on a unit past nine years, where the pair reaches half the price of a new GDT630. Profile, Café and Monogram tip toward repair, since replacement means matching the rest of the kitchen or fitting a new panel.
