It is an Electrolux brand, it is built to a price, and it fails in a way that is honest about that: fan motors, defrost parts and control boards go before the compressor does, and every one of them is a cheap repair. Frigidaire refrigerator problems and what they actually are

Fridge warm, freezer cold, or frost building on the back wall of the freezer
The defrost system has stopped cycling and the evaporator coil has iced over, so no cold air reaches the fridge. On Frigidaire it is the defrost thermostat, the defrost heater or the control board’s defrost timing, in that order of likelihood. We thaw the coil, replace the failed part, and check the door gaskets, because a gasket that lets Miami humidity in re-ices the coil within a month.
SY EF or SY CF: evaporator or condenser fan
Frigidaire’s control reports a fan that has stopped. SY EF is the evaporator fan in the freezer, iced in or failed; SY CF is the condenser fan under the unit, often seized by dust and pet hair. Both are same-visit parts.
SY CE, or the display shows dashes and the fridge is dead
A communication error between the main control board and the display, or a main board that has failed outright. On French door Gallery units the main board lives behind the fridge and fails after power surges, which South Florida supplies generously. We test the board outputs before condemning it, and we check the surge protection so the new board lasts.
Both sides warm, compressor clicking or silent
The start relay and overload on the compressor, which is a $150 fix, or the compressor itself, which is not. We meter the windings and read the pressures before quoting, because the relay produces the same warm fridge as a dead compressor for a tenth of the price.
Ice maker stopped, or ice is thin and hollow
A failed ice maker module, a stuck fill valve, or a frozen fill tube. On French door units with the ice maker in the door, the duct that brings cold air from the freezer has to be clear. Hollow ice is low water fill, which is a filter or a valve before it is the ice maker.
Water dispenser slow or dead
A filter past its date, a frozen line in the door on side-by-side units, or the dispenser valve. The filter is the free answer and we check it first.
Water under the crisper drawers or on the floor
A clogged defrost drain. Meltwater backs up into the fridge and runs out the front. We clear and treat the drain and confirm the defrost cycle runs.
Runs constantly, sides hot, never cold enough
Condenser coils packed with dust under the unit, a dead condenser fan, or a sealed-system leak. We clean the coils and test the fan first, because in a South Florida kitchen against a warm wall that is the answer most of the time.
