Frigidaire dishwashers are the ones in most South Florida rentals, in most kitchens where the builder chose the cheapest full-size unit, and in a surprising number of Gallery kitchens where the owner bought the whole suite. They are simple machines, and they fail simply: the drain pump clogs and throws i20, the base float trips i30 when something leaks, the door latch stops registering, and on the older FDB units the wash motor seizes on hard water. Every one of those is a cheap repair, and the question with a Frigidaire is usually not whether to fix it but whether the machine was worth the call at all. Here are the honest numbers.

Frigidaire dishwasher models we repair

  • Gallery FGID2466, FGID2468, FGID2479, FGIP2468, FGIP2479 top-control with OrbitClean
  • Professional FPID2498 and the panel-ready FGID2476
  • FDPC4221, FDPC4314, FDSP4401 and the compact 18-inch FFBD1831
  • Older FDB1050, FDB1100, FDB2410, FDBB2040 with the mechanical latch
  • Electrolux-built Kenmore units sharing the same platform

Frigidaire dishwasher codes and what they mean

i20, i40, iF0: will not drain
The drain pump is clogged with glass or seeds, the filter is packed, the check valve is stuck, or the drain hose is pushed too far into the disposal so it siphons. We clear the pump and the hose first and replace the pump when the motor has failed. The same code appears when a new install still has the disposal knockout in place.
i30: water in the base, float tripped
Something inside is leaking: the door gasket at the corners, a hose, the sump seal or the pump housing. The float in the base pan lifts and the control stops the machine. We open the toe kick, find the source, fix it and dry the pan so the float drops.
i10, i50: water fill and wash
i10 is a fill fault, the inlet valve or its clogged screen; i50 is the wash motor or a control fault. Screens are cleaned free with the visit. The wash motor is metered before anyone orders it.
uo: vent open
The drying vent or its wax motor has failed on models with the vent-and-fan dry. Dishes come out wet. A same-day part.
Er, Uo, or lights blinking with no code
A stuck key on the touch panel, moisture in the ribbon after a hot cycle, or a control that has lost its program. On older FDB units with no display the wash and rinse lights blink together to say the same thing. We dry and test the panel before quoting a board.
Will not start, door will not latch
The door latch assembly on the current units, or the mechanical latch and its switch on the older FDB models. Same-visit part.
Hums but does not wash, or grinds
The wash motor. On the older FDB units it seizes after years of hard water; on the Gallery units the circulation pump bearing wears. A grinding motor is worth replacing before it takes the pump housing with it.
Dishes wet, white film on glasses
Rinse aid empty or the dispenser stuck, or hard-water scale on the heater. We fix the dispenser, descale the sump and set the rinse-aid dose for Miami water.

Repair or replace

Pumps, latches, valves, seals, vents and dispensers are worth doing on any Frigidaire dishwasher under eight years, and the parts are cheap enough that we say so plainly. The line is the wash motor or a control board on a basic FFCD unit past six years, where either repair reaches half the price of a new machine, and we quote the replacement alongside it. A Gallery or Professional unit tips back toward repair because it matches the rest of the kitchen.

Frequently asked questions

Do you repair Frigidaire dishwashers in Miami and Broward?
Yes, across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach, seven days a week: Frigidaire, Gallery and Professional, front-control, top-control and the older FDB models. Same-day slots most days when you call before noon at (754) 345-4515.
What does i20 mean on a Frigidaire dishwasher?
A drain fault: a clogged pump or filter, a stuck check valve or a siphoning drain hose. Clearing runs $120 to $200; a new pump $160 to $290.
My Frigidaire shows i30 and stopped mid-cycle. What is that?
Water reached the base pan and lifted the float. Something is leaking: a gasket, a hose, the sump seal or the pump housing. We trace it, fix the part and dry the pan. $140 to $240 plus the part.
Why are my dishes wet after a Frigidaire cycle?
Rinse aid empty or the dispenser stuck, or on models with the vent dry, a failed vent or wax motor showing uo. Dispenser $140 to $260, vent $150 to $270.
Is a 7-year-old Frigidaire dishwasher worth repairing?
For a pump, latch, valve, seal or dispenser, yes. For a wash motor or board on a basic model, we quote a new unit beside it, because the repair reaches half the price. Gallery and Professional units are usually worth the motor.
How much does Frigidaire dishwasher repair cost?
Clearing and small parts run $120 to $310. A wash motor $260 to $460, a control panel $220 to $400, a main board $230 to $420. The $59 service call is free when you approve the repair.
