LG dryers are the only ones on the market that tell you when the vent is the problem: the D80, D90 and D95 codes mean the dryer measured its own airflow and found the duct blocked by that percentage. Most owners ignore the code until the dryer stops heating, and by then the thermal fuse has blown for exactly that reason. Berne has been an LG Authorized Service Center since July 2026, which means factory parts, LG’s diagnostic mode, and warranty repairs billed to LG when the unit qualifies. LG dryer codes and symptoms

D80, D90 or D95: the vent is blocked

LG’s Flow Sense measured the exhaust and found it 80, 90 or 95 percent restricted. The dryer is not broken yet. We clean the vent to the outside where the run allows, measure the airflow after, and tell you if the duct itself needs rebuilding. A South Florida condo run of thirty feet through the ceiling will show D90 within two years if nobody cleans it.

Runs but no heat

Electric DLEX: the heating element or the thermal fuse on the heater housing, and the fuse blew because the vent was blocked. Gas DLGX: the igniter, the flame sensor or the valve coils. We meter in that order and check the airflow before leaving, because the fuse will blow again in a dryer that cannot breathe.

tE1, tE2 or tE3: thermistor

The temperature sensor at the heater or in the exhaust duct has failed or its connector corroded. A $30 part, an hour of labor, and the dryer heats again.

Squeal, thump or grinding on rotation

Drum rollers, the idler pulley or the rear drum bearing. LG rollers wear flat spots around year six and thump on every turn. We replace rollers, pulley and belt as a set with the drum out, so the part we left does not start the noise again.

dE, dE4 or door open message

Door switch or a door that has sagged on its hinge so the switch no longer closes. The switch is a same-visit part; the hinge is a five-minute adjustment when that is all it is.

Will not start, hums, or spins free with no drum movement

A snapped belt, a failed belt switch, or the drive motor. Belts are truck stock on every LG platform.

Heat pump dryer takes hours, water in the reservoir tray

Ventless and heat pump compacts need the condenser coil cleaned and the drain pump working. A coil packed with lint doubles the cycle time. Cleaning is routine maintenance; a failed condensate pump is a part.

Sensor dry ends early, clothes damp

Moisture sensor bars coated with dryer-sheet film, or a failed sensor harness. Cleaning the bars is part of the visit.

LG dryer warranty

LG covers the whole dryer for one year and the drum motor for ten years on most DLEX and DLGX models. A dryer that hums and will not turn on a six-year-old unit may be a motor under part warranty, in which case you pay labor only. Bring the serial number or the receipt; as an authorized center we file the claim directly.

Repair or replace

An LG dryer is almost always worth repairing under twelve years, because the parts that fail cost a fraction of the machine and the motor is covered for ten years. The exception is a control board and a motor failing together on an out-of-warranty unit past ten years. A WashTower dryer half cannot be replaced alone, so repair is the answer there at nearly any age.
