Ice machine contactor, relay and descaling in Fort Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale, FL · August 2026 · Technician Cristian G.

Ice cubes in the ice machine bin
Control panel and wiring of the ice machine
Ice machine with the bin open and the control board out

This ice machine in Fort Lauderdale would not start, and a float switch problem was overfilling it, so the ice in the bin was melting. Cristian G. found a defective compressor contactor, relay and fuse assembly, mineral deposits in the water system and evaporator, a dirty condenser coil and a faulty float switch.

He replaced the compressor contactor, the compressor relay and the fuse assembly. The machine was descaled, water system and evaporator included, and the condenser coil got a deep clean. He checked the compressor operating pressures and ran a full test cycle.
